In the Washington Park Community I am known as Pastor Michael. It is in this beautiful Park setting I have had the privilege to serve as Senior Pastor since May of 2003. Following my four years of college at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon, I completed the Masters of Divinity Program at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO in 1990 followed by the Masters of Sacred Theology in 1991. While serving as a pastor in Southern California I completed the doctoral program at Westminster Theological Seminary in 2002.

I have also had the privilege to participate and complete both the Pastoral Leadership Institute and Governance Executive Training programs.

In addition to being the lead Pastor at St Johns, I establish and lead Learning Communities for churches and schools who desire to live out the mission of Connecting People with Jesus. In addition, I serve as a consultant and coach for Transforming Congregations Network and a Mentor for Natural Church Development. I currently serve in the mentor program of Denver Seminary.

I love being a pastor! St. Johns is a vibrant growing church community that releases people to live out their faith in Spirit-filled and creative ways. I enjoy the honor of speaking for pastor and teacher conferences. My greatest blessings are named: Bernardine, Debra, Rachel and Christian!

  1. Dear Michael, Thank you for your courage, clarity of words, and truth you relayed in your tv interview regarding the homosexual issue. I plan to use excerpts quoting you in my message. Q-What tv station and what church do you represent? Thank you, Lyle Kath-Lutheran (Mo.Synod) Pastor-Eyota, Mn. ps…Keep fightin’ the good fight!
