Sabbatical Reading List

Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.

-Charles W. Elio-

I am thankful for this time of Sabbatical. One of the joys of this “holy different time” is the opportunity to read.   With my Kindle Paper White as a regular companion, I am enjoying a wide variety reading, learning, and listening.   Some of the reads were great, some were lacking, but all were worth it.   In the first third of my Sabbatical, my gracious community has given me the space to enjoy the following titles:

The Open Door by Patricia Forbes

The Wright Brothers by David McCullough

The Big Book – Alcoholics Anonymous

50 Things you Should Do Before You’re 50 Alon Dande

Ephesians N.T. Wright

One Way Love by Tullian Tchividjian

Church Giving Matters Ben Stroup

The Intruders Stephen Coonts

Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands Paul Tripp

Soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton

The Einstein Prophecy by Robert Masello

Theodore Roosevelt by Edmund Morris

Everybody’s Normal Until You Get to Know Them by John Ortberg

Next up on the reading stack:

Toxic Charity by Robert Lupton

What I Learned from Peter Drucker by Jim Chamy

The Pearl Trader by Louis Kornitzer

Upstairs at the White House by J.B. West

Contagious Generosity by Chris Willard and Jim Sheppard

The Life of Abraham Lincoln by Henry Ketcham
